I bought this on an impulse Lightening Deal that was just too darn good to pass up. I was already playing the Big Bertha of the same line, (the non-Alpha BB). I got the 10.5 and increased the loft by 2*, and set it to Draw. I left the core down to offset the increased loft. Took less than 10 balls at the range to get used to it. Maybe because it is similar to the other BB I had been playing for the last 3-4 months, (which I also really like.) I like smaller toe-to-heal size on the Alpha better. It is higher in the middle (taller) then the regular BB, which I also like since I tend to hit the ball higher on the club face. The shaft looks identical, but the difference is the Alpha is a little heavier, and it is called the ZT vs. the Z. I have them both in regular, so I don't really notice a huge difference. I've played about 4 rounds with the Alpha so far. Overall, I can't say I hit it much, if any longer than the BB. They are both really, really, nice clubs. After playing TM and most recently Cobra, I am happy to be back to Callaway. It's been since the Diablo about 10 drivers ago since I played Callaway. The price I got on the lightening deal made the purchase a no-brainer. My buddy already purchased my BB, so it made it all that much better a deal. But all things considering, I would not consider it a huge difference to warrant the original $100 price difference. But with 4 days of golf coming up this weekend, I might change my mind. If I do, I'll post again. BTW, it was such a great buy, I bought another for my buddy. He will play with it on Friday for the first time. I hope he likes it as much as I do.
